Remember me saying that it was awfully quiet lately? Well, not anymore… First Goro from Pop Culture Shock and now the new license announcement and first pre-orders from Gaming Heads. Yes, pre-orders. Multiple. From a game that has been mighty popular here at my school: Plants VS. Zombies!
Yes, they indeed have the license to produce Plants VS. Zombies stuff! And that sentence is almost the exact same one that Ingis shouted at me when he saw the banner for it while browsing on his phone. Naturally, I quickly started my PC to take a look at what they would be making using this license. At first, I thought they would be making pluchies like their Doom line. But of course, the official PvsZ store already has those… And so, it wasn’t that much of a surprise that they decided to create resin statues of the famous adversaries. Yup, they created the regular Zombie and a regular Peashooter as their debut for this line.
Zombie
The first in their line is the regular Zombie, the one you first encounter in the game. And my, isn’t he cute! He looks like he just stumbled out from the screen and onto your shelf. He’s extremely well done and I just love the exclusive! Remember when you first played the game that suddenly the zombie would be sporting a traffic cone? Somehow, that cone boosted his defense and suddenly, he became harder to kill (again). This Conehead Zombie is going to be the exclusive and frankly, I don’t know why you would buy the regular… It’s only 10 bucks more and you get an awesome ‘new’ character. So far, they haven’t responded on how the cone will be attached but I’m guessing it’s going to be magnets. This way, you can display him without it whenever the Peashooter has hit him enough.
The Zombie will be 13inch (~33cm) which is probably without the cone and will set you back 139.99$/~100€ (or 149.99$/~110€ for the exclusive). Did I already mention that the exclusive is the way to go with this line? I’m also thinking about making a custom brain flag for the Zombie to hold. Hey, isn’t that a neat idea to release as an extra Gaming Heads? You know, to purchase for a few bucks? Probably won’t happen…

Peashooter
The other they’re releasing is the Peashooter which is your first offense-type plant and while the exclusive of the Zombie is actually more like a different character, the exclusive of the Peashooter is its pea. Yes, when you have both exclusives you can actually play Plants Vs Zombies!
Like with the Zombie, the exclusive of the Peashooter will cost you 10$ more bringing its price to 79.99$/~60€ (or 69.99$/~50€ for the regular). The Peashooter will be in scale with the Zombie which puts it at 9inch (~22cm) which also looks like the correct height difference like it looks in the game.
While I think that the Peashooter itself is quite nice, I don’t feel the same for its base. The flowers on it look more like baked eggs. I don’t know if they could change this or if it even looks like that in real life but currently, I don’t like it. Ah well, we’ll see when we have them in hand. Maybe it’s not that bad…

Something neat is also the fact that those ordering both the Zombie and the Peashooter will receive the same product number for both pieces by default. I love same edition numbers! Even though I won’t put down a lot of money to get a specific number, it’s a nice extra to have an entire line with the same edition number. Both the Zombie and the Peashooter will have an edition size of 350 for the exclusive and 750 for the regular.
While I don’t know if this license is popular enough to actually sell out, I’m totally sold on it and can’t wait for the next in line. Also I’m hoping that they’ll give both the Plants as the Zombies different colored bases to get the checkered effect like in the game.
