Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Ingis

IngisMy name is Ingis. Okay, it’s not my real name, the only way that would be the case if I was from Sweden, Norway, … But I’m not. I’m from Belgium, a little country in the middle of the Western-Europe. My real name is Wesley but I’m from the time it was cool to have a nickname on the Internet so Ingis it is. I’m born in 1985. I’m getting old.

I’m a gamer and  I collect everything that is connected to gaming. I’m interested in gaming since I barely could walk. I can’t remember how much hours I’ve spent looking in folders or reading game magazines, drooling over the screenshots but I never, ever had any console. I had a Gameboy and some games but never got any further than the first generation. On my fourteenth my parents bought a PC and I used that big machine a lot for my ‘schoolwork’.

In 2005, I imported a girlfriend from the Netherlands and that was a big mistake… for my wallet. She had a past with consoles but, apart from a Xbox and a Gamecube, didn’t have one in her possession anymore, not until we hit our first flee marked. The result was a NES console in box and the start of a still growing collection. I can proudly say I’m on my way to make up the years I’ve spent console-less in my life.

I must admit … even with my counting years I’m still a boy in some ways. Like I said earlier I always looked up to game stuff, but like most boys I admired super heroes, especially the Marvel side. Never bought anything like a comic or even Marvel related thing but the interest never faded. Now a couple months ago I bought an issue of She-hulk and that was the barrier going down. The pile of comics is growing steady and my interests are teased by so many characters. I’m pretty sure the end will not be in sight for a long time for this hobby too.

The comics and games are the least of the problems hovering the marvel or game problem. No siré… I like merchandise, I really do, especially statues, even more specific mixed media 1/4the scale. For the comic department it ends with that, I know there is much more nice stuff, but I have to draw a line and believe me I redraw that line already to much. The game department on the other hand goes further with gashapons, plushes, sometimes even action figures, ….

The last part of my geeky obsessions are movie cars. I’m trying to get the most famous movie cars in 1/18 scale. This is a hobby for when I have to much money, so you will not be surprised when I tell you I don’t have to much cars in my possession.  Surely this hobby will grow over the years and will fill a nice cabinet somewhere in my future house.

If you’ve read all this above and you are thinking… Jesus what a geek…. well then you are mostly right I think… but believe me, I’m gorram proud of it.
