    I’m Ikaryas, I’m the one who came up with this idea and decided on the name given to this little project. Did I Mention I’m Crazy comes forth out of the strange looks we get when people see our collection.

Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Happy hunting!

A game I’ve loved ever since its debut on the PS2 is Monster Hunter. But I hardly have anything to show my love for it in our collection. That may change now with the new releases by, an unknown to us, company called Animegami Studios.

I never even heard of this studios before seeing a post in one of the Facebook groups we frequent. And seeing as it featured Monster Hunter, I just had to check it out. Especially since it would be a licensed product. And while I would prefer a realistic version to grace our collection, this chibi version is definitely cute. And with the low price-point, we might just order it. I still have some space on my desk…

The first in the series, yes they’re doing several of these cute monsters, is the Tobi-Kadachi which is a large monster in Monster Hunter World. It’s a fanged wyvern that flies among the trees of the Ancient Forest. Its penchant to brush against the ground and the trees as it moves around building up static electricity within its fur.

A small note of the creative director from Animegami Studios;

With this series of statues my goal was to create cute poses and interactions between large monsters and endemic life, rather than typical attack poses seen elsewhere. In this case Tobi is surprised by a Paratoad chilling on top of his head, best not to scare it…

I designed all of the Ancient Forest statues at once, but Tobi-Kadachi was the first and the rest were based on its proportions, cuteness level and theme, so it holds a special place.

My goal is to represent all biomes seen in the current Monster Hunter generation (and maybe the next?!) where you’ll get four monsters and a Hunter per map. Hopefully we’ll be successful enough to cover all of World’s and Iceborne’s content and then go further beyond, it all depends on your kind support.

Happy Hunting!

Ricardo Clatworthy, Creative Director

The Tobi-Kadachi is the first of their Mosaic base line which means that they use no pegs or magnets in the feet or base. That means that you can totally decide how you want to display him and even if you want to use the base. Speaking about the base, it will be interchangeable with the other pieces in the series.

From Paratoad to toe, it’s is 4 inch (or 10.16 cm) tall and it will be hand painted which is pretty odd for a PVC figure. The base is 0.2 inch (or 5 mm) high base and is pad printed. It will be limited to 3.000 pieces worldwide and is advertised as an exclusive edition. We don’t have a clue what the difference with a regular would be, and if there even is a regular…

It’s available for pre-order right now at their own website for 49.99USD. We haven’t found it anywhere else yet. Maybe that is why it’s called ‘exclusive edition’?

Are you going to get this cutie? I’ll probably will.
