I’m Ikaryas, I’m the one who came up with this idea and decided on the name given to this little project. Did I Mention I’m Crazy comes forth out of the strange looks we get when people see our collection.

Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

And by nothing, I mean everything.

The whole thing that makes collecting bearable, and affordable, is being able to set boundaries on what you collect. Well, technically, setting them isn’t the hard part. Keeping them in place is…

We started out collecting games, then we started to buy game related merchandise like gashapons and PVCs. Then the premium formats entered our life, starting with Darth Talon (coming soon on DIMIC) and She-Hulk. So far, we succeeded in keeping those newest boundaries although with great effort. But Kotobukiya just made it harder again to keep them in place with their newest prototype pictures for the next in line of their Bishoujo’s; Mystique.

I always like some of their Bishoujo line and it already wasn’t easy to not buy them. One of the major issues with the line was however that not all of them were made in the same scale. Some of the ladies were 1/8 which is fine but some of them were 1/7. The difference between the scale is just too much and I really don’t like things to be in different sizes.

For instance; Black Cat (Marvel) is 1/7 while Scarlet Witch (also Marvel) was made in 1/8 scale. And what’s really weird is that they made another Marvel girl, Black Widow, 1/9. What kind of stupid scale is that? Almost nothing is 1/9th scale… From DC, they made Batgirl a 1/7 figure and Catwoman 1/8 again. Seriously Kotobukiya, what are you guys thinking?

The constant switching between scales already cost this company a lot of collectors. A lot of them think like I do, no different scales, and are dropping the line. This is a real shame since they just previewed some other nice additions to this line. Introducing to you; Mystique from Marvel and Poison Ivy from DC Comics!

Sculpted by Goutaro Takeuchi (Mystique) and Takashi Tsukada (Ivy), they’re both 1/7th scale which made me wondering if they’ll keep this up from now on. If so, I might, just might start collecting some of this line. The ones I like so far that are 1/7th are: Elektra, Black Cat, Batgirl (black version) and Catwoman. Too bad the others that I like are 1/8. So no Emma Frost (clear version), Scarlet Witch or Rogue for me. That really makes me a sad girl. Maybe Koto will re-release them in a slightly bigger, say 1/7th, scale? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top Koto?

Even so, both should arrive in February 2012. I’m still on the fence for these two and the others… One of the few I still can’t decide on what to do.
