Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Wowie zowie!

One of my favourite games gets a third instalment… AND finally a nice figure!

If you haven’t guessed from the introduction image, one of my favourite games ever is Luigi’s Mansion. While easy and short, it packed so much fun and cuteness into such a little disc, it instantly became one of my most beloved games. The second one was also quite enjoyable and I’m really looking forward to playing the third even though we still haven’t gotten a Switch…

But throughout the years, the one thing that really bothered me was the lack of collectibles for these games. Sure, we’ve got that semi-nice Nintendo Club figurine and also two of the three released plushes, but that’s it. No high-end resins, or even slightly lower-end PVCs, were ever made of our favourite green-clad brother. Until now!

YES! Finally, a company grabbed the license and gave us something amazing. That company is First 4 Figures, a company that, if you have read more on DIMIC than just this post, makes a lot of amazing Nintendo licensed statues and figures. And finally, after years of me saying that he would definitely sell, they’re making a Luigi’s Mansion Luigi. And he’s looking as cute as ever!

There are two, technically three, editions. First we have the Standard Edition which comes with Luigi himself holding the Poltergust G-00, standing on a round base featuring a part of the carpet typically found in the hotel from the third game. The figure is about 9 inch (23 cm) tall and also comes in a nice window box. The Standard Edition will retail for about 79.99 USD

The second, and third, edition is the Exclusive Edition. Why do I say third as well? Well, it might be a tad confusing but the Exclusive Edition comes in two formats; the Collector’s Edition and the Exclusive Edition. The only difference is that the CE is available through retailers only and the Exclusive Edition is only purchasable on the First 4 Figures website. But that’s not all; it adds a numbered base (which makes it limited), extra reward points, an Authentication card and a special box exclusive to the F4F website to the mix. The figure itself is exactly the same though.
So what’s the difference with the regular edition?

The Exclusive Edition comes with the super adorable Polterpup! The little ghost pup is so extremely cute and he lights up! And that’s not all! What is a ghost pup without glow-in-the-dark footprints? Can’t have one without the other I’d say.
Apart from the pup lighting up, both the flashlight and the green goo in the Poltergust G-00 also light up which makes up for a stunning display and a nice bedside lamp to boot.

I don’t know about you but I do welcome more Luigi’s Mansion collectibles even if they’re ‘just’ PVC. That said, I do hope that they’ll release some nice resin statues of these great games as well. I’d buy them all!
In any case, this one will go very smartly on my desk so I feel protected against ghosts whenever I’m working.
