I think that most of the people my age that gamed as kids have fond memories of a certain purple dragon. Last year, First 4 Figures released the main guy from these Spyro games for pre-order. Now, a year after, the second statue of the line sees its chance to shine!

I remember the pre-order of Spyro himself pretty well as it happened to be on the same day that my little girl was born. Of course, she didn’t want to wait until the stream was finished and her parent were able to pre-order the little guy so we had to stop watching. But in the end we were able to secure a Day One edition anyway thanks to the awesome folks at First 4 Figures.

A little while after, Alex, the owner of F4F, asked in the Official Collector’s Club if we would be interested in a Crystal Dragon based on the original game’s design. He probably was thinking it would be an easy thing to do. Boy, did he realise just how wrong he was. But damn, am I happy he only realised a little too late! I absolutely love this!

While the design looks simplistic, a closer inspection to the paint application shows just how much work went into this. It takes a lot of paint to achieve this crisp crystal look. I’m in love…

And then I haven’t even talked about the exclusive and the variant! The exclusive comes with a light up base, glow in the dark paint and a golden mini Crystal Dragon. It’s just too cute.
And oh my, that variant… I don’t know if I ever had so much difficulty choosing between version (apart from Anders’ Mandy) but I had to as I was only allowed one… So sad…

So, what is this variant? It’s exactly the same (and including the same things) as the exclusive but made from, get this, translucent resin! It looks so good…

All versions (the regular, exclusive and crystallized) are the same price; $474.99. The statue, including the base, is 22 inch (56cm) high by 17×22 (43×56). So it’s not like it’s a small collectible. He’s going to look so good next to Spyro.
They’re also offering special two packs for a discounted price. You can get either two exclusives, two crystallized or one exclusive and one crystallized statues for a discounted price of $899.99
