Those who are older or as old as I am, might remember the greatest event in every persons history; playing Dragon’s Lair for the first time!

If you haven’t had that wonderful experience; SHAME ON YOU!

Dragon’s Lair (the original 1980 arcade classic, not that abomination on the NES) was amazing in the eyes of a young girl who loved Disney/animations. Oh, how many times didn’t I go to the neighbors to play that wonderful (ported) game on their PC or watch over their shoulders when they (and/or my brother) played it. The times I stood in the shoes of Dirk the Daring, trying to rescue the lovely (and sexy) damsel in distress Princess Daphne from that ferocious dragon Singe, are uncountable. The animations, the adventure, the trills. It was all so exiting. So many times better than that small pixelated plumber. And even now, so many years later, it still holds a special place in my heart.

Which brings me to my greatest sadness that even to this day, I’ve found no merchandise of this great and historic game.

But worry no more! Finally there is a company that acknowledged this utter lack of greatness and decided to change that!

And just look at this awesomeness:

Who wouldn’t want a gorgeous piece like that? Not only did they make sure there finally is some merchandise but they also made sure no one can question their supremacy when it comes to creating complete awesomeness! There is also going to be a special Artists Edition (ES 50) which is only available through their website and also only for US residents. But where there’s a will, there’s a way 😀 Oh, but don’t bother looking for it, they’re already sold out on their website…

She’s created by Electric Tiki Design and this is the second in their Animation’s Leading Ladies line. The first one that is scheduled for release is Tinker Bell (she’s awesome to btw 😉 ). More are on their way and it’s promising to be one hell of a line!
