As you might know, I sure do love replica’s! And especially those of game related stuff. But these sure are something… different…

I don’t like buying unofficial stuff, but I actually did on one occasion. I believe it was for a birthday for my husband a few years back (2012) when I bought a Nerf gun on Etsy. Nothing special you’d say, apart from the fact that the seller had modded it to look like a Mass Effect gun. It was pretty well done and he loved shooting those darts to my head while I was studying…

But now, Nerf finally figured out that making guns based on video game guns, isn’t a bad idea at all! And they’re starting* with one of my favorite game series; Halo!
* Yeah I know they’ve done Fortnite as well but I generally don’t like nor play pure multiplayer games.

There are three different blasters and they are slated for release sometime this Fall.

The premiere blaster from this set is the MA40 Blaster, inspired by the weapon in the upcoming Halo: Infinite. It’s a big one and it also holds the most ammo as it features a magazine that holds up to 10 darts. To fire these, you need to power it with no less than four C batteries! Also, if you care for such a thing, the blaster comes with a code to unlock the MA40’s color scheme in Halo: Infinite. The retail price for this one is $50 which is not too bad I think. To be honest, I’ve never bought any Nerf guns apart from the one I mentioned above, so I don’t know if this is more expansive than a regular version? Is it? A quick search shows me that it’s pretty much the regular pricing for their larger weapons. Neat.

The other two that are already shown are both blasters from the Microshot line. The first is the SPNKR, based on the UNSC weapon of the same name. This is a one-shot blaster that comes with two darts, and it will retail for $10.

And finally, there’s the Covenant’s Needler. Of course, while it does have the look of the iconic Halo weapon, the darts don’t home in on your enemy nor will they explode. A shame really… It comes with two darts and will cost $10.

If I’m buying these Nerf guns, I’d probably would only go for the Needler as that has always been one of my favorite weapons. And maybe the blaster as well… Here’s hoping that they’ll release these in Europe as well.
