Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Gotham’s most famous are immortalized by Sideshow

Ivy: There’s just something about an anatomically correct rubber suit that puts fire in a girl’s lips.
Batman: Why is it that all the beautiful ones are homicidal maniacs? Is it me?
Edit: Edition sizes of Poison Ivy (exclusive & regular) and Batman (exclusive) are know known.

I like plants, I even have my own vegetable garden where I grow tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, … Those are all meant to eat, the moment they start eating me is most likely the time I will get rid of them. I know, that this never will occur but in some universes this is a more prominent problem. Yes, indeed the DC universe. The beautiful Poison Ivy is known for her habit to teach plants bad things.

A bit more information provided by Wikipedia:

Poison Ivy (Pamela Lillian Isley) is a fictional character, a DC Comics supervillainess who is primarily an enemy of Batman. Created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff, she first appeared in Batman #181 (June 1966). She is depicted as one of the world’s most prominent eco-terrorists who is obsessed with plants, botany, and environmentalism. She uses toxins from plants and mind controlling pheromones for her criminal activities, which are usually aimed at protecting the natural environment. Fellow villain Harley Quinn is her recurring partner-in-crime and possibly her only human friend. She is best known as a villain of Batman and plays an important role in his rogues gallery and has proven to be one of his more powerful foes, being one of the few Batman villains to display anything close to superpowers. Pamela Isley a.k.a. Poison Ivy has been portrayed as a love interest for Batman in some comics.

So back to what matters, collectibles. Sideshow Collectibles announced exactly one year ago that they acquired the DC licence and with that they also showed their first premium format, the Joker. I’m not that affectionate with the DC comics, so I was not that thrilled. I was more thinking to acquire all the females in PF form. This year SSC showed the Premium Format of Ivy.

To give a heads up, the definition of PF is changed. PF doesn’t mean necessarily mixed media anymore, it just means 1/4th scale.

So Ivy is a 1/4th polystone babe and a goddamned sexy one. So yes, we pre-ordered her. The exclusive version of course, which is already sold out. I still think that that’s a bit strange since the edition size is still TBD… I really hope Sideshow will not drop the ball on the facepaint. She is beautifully done with several skintones/make-up/shades so it would be nice if Sideshow delivers what they promised.  The exclusive for Poison are switch out plants. The exclusive plants are a bit more vicious, with their mouth open and showing their teeth. The normal version has plants with a closed mouth.

The second one in the little dialog stated above is the famous Batman. I really hope I don’t have to say who Batman is. He is  the guy who beats Superman’s ass. Moehahahahaha. No, seriously he does. Superman is great and really strong and has a red underpants, but Batman is just to cool to be affected by one of those.

So, a few day later Sideshow decided to drop another DC bomb on their customers. The PF of Batsy himself. Yep, The big bad dark knight was ready for pre-order. No biggy, accept the fact that we ordered another PF. There goes the until now quiet months next year in our collection budget. His price is also pretty steep, at 400 bucks he is really pushing the edges. At this rate the price for the PF’s ready for order at the end of this year will be over the $400. I don’t think I can justify that price with my money conscience. Batsy his exclusive, which is also already sold out (with the same remark as Poison) is a switch out hand that is holding a batarang. While Poison is a fully sculpted PF, Batman is also mixed media.

So yes, we’ve crossed yet another line and now have two DC PF’s on our order list. Stay tuned to see the reviews of them when they arrive which should be somewhere in 2013.
