I like Catherine. I’ve actually finally played it now and I really like the game. It really made me appreciate both the special edition and the figurine that I have of Catherine even more. Too bad Max Factory only released Catherine…

Well, now a different company is going to make a change!Both Catherine (the blond) as Katherine (brunette) are the important female characters in the game called Catherine. Like I said, I finally got to play it before making this preview and man, that game is weird. Good, but weird. I really like the designs of both the girls and was pretty bummed out that Max Factory only released Catherine. I want Katherine and preferably Vincent (the lead guy) as well!
And, an enormous while ago, we told you about a new figure company called Art Spirits and how they were going to make both a Catherine and a Katherine from the game Catherine. I was thrilled! The sculpt looked okay and depending on the paint job and the scale, those were a definite pre-order for us even though we didn’t know this company at all. Some search also made me wonder if they already have something released or not. They do have some figures slated for release with these two being the first. I don’t know whether to wait or just to try out this new company. I generally don’t like taking chances but prefer to wait for the first in-hand pictures…

While we only had some unpainted pictures of the two girls, they’re now painted and available for pre-order with a late December release. By now, both the scale and the price tag are also known. These two will be 1/8th scale and around the 50 euros if you’d import them through AmiAmi which is the place we’ll get them from if we’ve decided if we want them or not.

Catherine

This one really doesn’t hold a candle to the Max Factory one… It’s not that the sculpt is bad or something. It’s actually quite good. Also the paint application is fine. I just find the pose quite boring and stiff. There are so many alluring things you can do with this character. Okay, it might be the pose she strikes on the alternate cover for the game but still… It’s boring and I don’t really like it. It’s a shame these aren’t 1/7th scale because then I could buy only the Katherine to place next to the Max Factory Catherine. Because, that one, I LIKE!

Katherine

Like I said; this one I like! The pose is sexy and I just love the look and feel of this one. This is one very well done figure, especially for such an unknown company. My only gripe, apart from the scale, is the seam in her hair. It’s a bit too obvious from some angles. But, viewed from up front, it isn’t that noticeable so I can live with it.

I still don’t know if we’re going to order them. The release date is this month so maybe I’ll just wait and see what the final product will look like. I’m also curious what kind of base these will have. Will they keep the transparent discs or get a themed base? I don’t know yet. And I’m still in doubt about ordering as well…
