I’m Ikaryas, I’m the one who came up with this idea and decided on the name given to this little project. Did I Mention I’m Crazy comes forth out of the strange looks we get when people see our collection.

Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Sugar, spice and everything nice!

I loved Cartoon Network as a kid and frankly, if I could view that station now, I still would! Some of my favorite cartoons were; The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Biker Mice from Mars, Dexter’s Laboratory, Totally Spies and naturally The Powerpuff Girls! Leblon-Delienne, one of the more famous cartoon sculpting companies, released these three girls back in July 2010. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t convince Ingis that we could bent our little rule for only game-related and PFs. Now that I think of it, they did release at least one game… So technically, I didn’t break any rules. Yeah me!

I already have some merchandise from the Powerpuff Girls, not much because I promised Ingis I wouldn’t get carried away. I got one complete set of doll-like figures and a set of key chains which I got for free when I purchased the dolls. And that’s it. Ain’t I a good girl?

But then… While browsing through one of my favorite local webshops, I saw these three and I knew I had to have them. Luckily, Ingis said ‘fine’ and I ordered them. Like said before, these three girls are made by Leblon-Delienne, there are ‘only’ a thousand made and LD did a supreme job at capturing the true spirit of each of the girls.

As you should know, the Powerpuff Girls are three girls created by the lonesome Professor Utonium in an attempt to create the perfect little girl using a mixture of sugar, spice and everything nice. But he accidentally spilled a mysterious substance called “Chemical X” into the mixture, creating instead of one perfect little girl, three girls and granting all three magical powers. These powers are the standard super powers namely flight, super strength, super speed, near invulnerability, x-ray vision, super senses, heat vision, and energy projection.
The plot in each episode is usually the same; a giant monster or villain threatens the town (Townsville) in which they live and they protect it by kicking its ass. Next to the ass-kicking, these three little girls are also confronted by everyday, little girl, issues. I really loved this series!

Now on to the statues!

Quick note for the people who don’t know the Powerpuff girls or do, but not their names; Blossom (the ‘leader) is the redhead, Buttercup (the though one) the green clad and Bubbles (the innocent) is the blonde.

I really like the poses on these statues because they really display their individual characteristics. Blossom is clearly the tallest with her 9inch (23cm). She’s also the more energetic of the three with her long flowing hair and standing on only the tip of her foot. Ingis likes this one the most.
Buttercup is the smallest because of her crouched position. She’s merely a 4.7inch (12cm) but every inch radiates toughness which is the way she acts in the series.
Bubbles, my all-time favorite, is standing joyful in her 5.5inch (14cm). While she is my favorite of the three, I don’t really have a favorite with these statues… I really love them and they complement each other well.

The bases on the three are all the same, which is a huge plus. I don’t like different bases in one line… They are made of hard, and very shiny, plastic and scratch reaaaaaaal easy so cleaning with a soft cloth is advised.
I don’t think any webshop offers you the choice of receiving the same numbers, not even the official one. But that’s just a guess… Personally I find it a darn shame that I don’t have the same numbers for these three. You know how much I like that.

The colors are vibrant and correct and I don’t have any paint flaws or misses. This is also true for the sculpting itself, no flaws found. Yes! Both the sculpting and the ‘coloring’ are typical for LD. Even though the statues look very fragile, the feet really are well attached to the bases and they’re also very well balanced.
The packaging is superb! Instead of the widely used Styrofoam, LD uses something similar but distinctively better. They really fit in well and I don’t think a lot can harm them if they’re in their boxes which is currently a very good thing since they’re in storage right now (stupid renovation). One thing I did found strange is found on the boxes, namely they printed everything except the Powerpuff Girl logo on them. It’s like they forgot to add it to the PDF/image before sending it out to print… It looks weird.

Conclusion
If you’re a fan of the Powerpuff girls I highly recommend these three statues. Better merchandise is nowhere to be found and I can assure you that. Even Ingis, who never did watch the show or know them that well, likes these three little girls. And so will you!

How did the girls come in the boxes? I’m looking to order bubbles & blossom from halfway around the world by shipper proxy, but need to know how fragile they are/ if I need to tell the sender to wrap the packaging more.

    • The inside of the boxes are filled with some hard foam that is molded around the girls. It’s one of the sturdiest packaging that I’ve ever seen but the outside of the box is quite easily dented… If that’s also important to you, don’t forget to ask them to double package it.
Good luck! These three are definitely a must have if you loved the series.

Quiero las 3 estatuas en donde las puedo conseguir?

I want all 3 statues where I can get?
    (Google Translator FTW!)

    • I don’t think you can actually buy these anywhere anymore. The best you can try is Ebay…
      Good luck, they’re worth it!

  • Awesome! If you don’t mind me asking where did you buy these? I’ve been looking for a buttercup figure like that for my desk for a while.

    • I bought these from a local webshop (La Cité des Nuages) but that was years ago. I don’t think you’ll find these anywhere anymore apart from Ebay perhaps (and even now, there aren’t any to be found). Good luck with the search, they’re definitely worth it!
