Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Nintendo does it again!

I was skeptic… to say the least. But when I tested it myself I have to admit, I’m impressed! Of what I’m talking about? My, the 3DS of course!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock with only access to this site, you’ve probably noticed Nintendo’s newest handheld the 3DS. It’s like the DS… only with a new feature called 3D. Hence the name. There are numerous ways to have heard about this device, think E3, Internet and don’t forget Nintendo’s over-acted commercials. I dislike those commercials, especially since they dubbed them over here… It looks and sounds terrible.

But when I visited a local shop today I couldn’t help but gaze at the demo-pod. My fingers started to itch and slowly, very slowly I started walking to those shiny 3DS’s. In one, there was PilotWings, in the other Street Fighter. Naturally, I tried Street Fighter. And it looks awesome!! The 3D is amazingly done and doesn’t bother me at all. Also, the 3D slider works like a charm. Turned all the way down, it really is like a 2D game.

But you really have to hold it right in front of you, because you can’t properly see the effects is you like watch over someone else’s shoulder like Ingis did. I also got the chance to try out the Augmented Reality card and my, was that cool! I defeated a dragon 😀

Another plus is the fact that this little baby is backwards compatible with the standard DS games. Biggest downside however is that it isn’t region free, which means I can’t get a cooler color or edition from Japan or the US… But nevertheless, I will most definitely get this thing! You?

I think it’s a really cool handheld but a bit too expensive, the short battery isn’t helping either. I think I’m going to wait till a newer model drops, but as a handheld lover I need to have this, no doubt, just not now.

    • Indeed, a short battery life is kind of irritating… Shame is that it isn’t region free anymore so goodbye nice Japanese or American models 🙁 basterds!! And expensive… well, I kinda think it’s worth it actually 🙂 but you’re right, eventually the price will drop. I’m guessing Christmas the latest and Summer at its earliest.
