Marvel(ous)

There are lots of things happing in the world, WonderCon was one of those things. If I knew earlier, I might have posted this earlier, but I forgot. I know, shame on me. But let me tell you about something Marvelous!

On the second day of the ComicCon (2nd of April), Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb announced casting for two new (and apparently much anticipated) anime series; Iron Man and Wolverine. I have to say, that before I’ve read this announcement, I never heard of these anime series… But when they will premiere in July this year, I’ll definitely keep an eye out. For those in America, the series will be aired on G4.

Now, about those announcements. Apparently, Adrian Pasdar (Heroes, Castle, Profit) will lend his voice to the character of Tony Stark in Iron Man, in which Stark travels to Japan and battles the evil Zodiac Organization. Mhuahahaha!

In Wolverine, Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls, Rocky Balboa, Heroes) takes on the title role. In Wolverine, Logan has to claw his way through Japan’s criminal underworld. Japan again? What’s with Japan as background people? Ah, apparently some of the comics are extremely anime-ted. Guess they did it to appeal to the Japanese market… Don’t really like this look of Wolverine though… And I like animes.

Ah well, let’s hear what Loeb has to say about it:

“Adrian and Milo are perfect as Iron Man and Wolverine,” said Loeb. “It’s extremely exciting to see these talented guys take on two of the most iconic Super Hero roles of all time.”

Yeah, now let’s hear someone say nice things who isn’t paid to say them? A well, let’s find out for ourselves if they are indeed perfect for those roles.

Next to these two series, G4 will also air the X-Men anime serie later this year. Also quite interesting I say. I’ve scurried around the Internet to find you some videos, ’cause nothing says it more than a video right 😀 Oh, by the way. They’ll air the dubbed (= translated, voice-over) animes, not the Japanese ones. Wonder how that will work out…
