Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

You’re no match for the mighty [thud]

I love movies and I love comics so it’s going to be a great time for comic/super hero movie fans like me with Thor just in the theaters, Captain America, Green Lantern and X-Men: First Class coming this Summer, the Avengers, Nick Fury and Spider-man Reboot in 2012, …

And I’m just crazy about the latests Marvel adoptions! So if they keep this level up, I’m spending some more time in the cinema starting with Thor!

We went to see Thor in the theater yesterday and my, did I liked it! It was funny at times, action packed at other and generally well acted. Marvel (or whoever) is doing a great job lately. I loved The Incredible Hulk (2008 version, not the 2003 one) which started the improvement (for me) for super hero movies. On a side-note, DC isn’t doing that bad either with Superman and Batman…

Anyhow back to Thor. The big guy is being played by Chris Hemsworth, his brother Loki by Tom Hiddleston and Odin Alvader by the great Anthony Hopkins and all are doing a tremendous job at portraying these characters. You can really feel the stubbornness of the berserker, the slickness of the liar and the aging wisdom of the gray dude. Thor really is an ass in the beginning but, naturally, by falling in love with the fair maiden called Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman), he changes and becomes the person he needs to be to become King of Asgard. Not that Odin gives up his spot on the throne that easily, but you know how it is.
Now, how did Thor and Jane meet? Well, because Thor was a tad stubborn (just a tad) in the beginning and defying his fathers orders not to mess with the Frost Giants pushed his father to banish him to Midgard (= earth). He also took away his powers and enchanted Mjölnir (= big ass hammer) so that only the worthy one could lift it and gain Thor’s power. Uhuh.

The movie had some really nice and/or funny scenes in it. At some, the whole theater was laughing. I’m going to give some cool quotes now. I have to say, it may contain some spoilers… maybe my conclusion first?

Conclusion
If you like Thor, Marvel, comic-related or good action/sf/fantasy movies, you’ll definitely like Thor! Go on and watch it! You won’t be disappointed.

Okay, done that. Here come the quotes and/or scenes I liked:

« Thor walking into a pet shop »
Thor: I need a horse!

« Thor turning away from the Frost Giants, ready to go back home in peace. »
Frost Giant: Run home now little princess.
Loki: Damn

« Thor getting hit by a car. Twice. »

« Drinking coffee for the first time »
This drink… I like it! More!
« smashes the cup »

I had more, but I can’t seem to remember them all… Must be S.H.I.E.L.D. trying to erase my memory… It’s working…
