Did I Mention I'm Crazy?

Marvel VS Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

I hate it when publishers release a certain special edition only in Japan or America. I also don’t like it when they alter a special edition because it usually means that Europe gets the lame one. One publisher that is reaaal good at releasing tons of different special edition and screwing Europeans, is Capcom. I love Capcom games but I hate their marketing department… Alas, it wasn’t any different with Marvel VS Capcom 3… Since we both love steel cases, we decided to import this edition. And it costs us dearly… The taxes for that little package were higher than for a 10kg, 300+ statue. I don’t get customs people.

But in the end, I’m quite happy with this edition even though it doesn’t include much next to the steel case packaging. The art on the steel case is amazing! It features all, or at least a lot, of the characters from the games. And I love it that Felicia and Morrigan are on there as well. And Dante, and Spidey, and Chris Redfield, and X-23, and, and, …

Next to the game, it only includes a small comic book with an even smaller art section in it and some Internet goodies. The comic is funny but nothing more really and the art pages are beautiful but to small and to few to really matter.
Apart from the standard extra DLC (that even worked using a PAL/European Xbox console, oh goodie) featuring two extra characters, you also got a free month Marvel Digital Comics. This way, you can read comics for free for one month. After that first month, it is 10 bucks a month or 5 when subscribing for a whole year (59.88 USD to be precise). Not that I read comics online… I like the printed version too much. But it’s nice to be able to read one issue to see if you’d like it.

The cards you can see in the last picture are actually GameStop exclusives. The 5.7 inch (14.5 cm) cards have pictures and details on Marvel VS Capcom 3 characters. They’re vinyl so you can wash or reapply them as needed. Theoretically.

And that’s about it I’m afraid. Nothing of this is really worth all that extra money. They could have done so much more with games like this.

Conclusion
Like said above, this edition doesn’t include a lot but the steel case alone makes me one happy gall. The print on it is just amazing and was in fact the sole reason we bought this edition. If you’re a really big fan of Capcom, Marvel and/or fighting games, this is a nice addition to your collection. Get it while you still can ’cause I have a feeling that this is going to be quite a rare sucker.
