And Pop Culture Shock finally shows us the painted prototype of a diorama many were waiting for! The Street Fighter diorama of Vega Vs. Chun-Li was highly anticipated but I’m not sure if it matches the anticipation…

Don’t get me wrong, I love it apart for a few minor things but the forums are abuzz with commentaries. Mostly about the yellow swoosh which I personally don’t really care for either. But I don’t think it’s that bad. There are two things I am worried about though. Just like on the Tsume-Art Vega, this Vega also has an annoying seam on his upper arm and almost on the exact same spot too. Kinda weird.

The other thing I’m worried about is Chun’s face. It looks goofy with her open mouth and it also looks like she has red eyes… Of course, we only have these two images so I’ll reserve my final judgement until I see more which should be within the next 48 hours. But for now, I’m not completely sold on this…

What I do like is the action depicted in this statue. And the backdrop looks gorgeous as well. I also love the fact that they went out of their way for the exclusive! The regular edition has Chun-Li in her classic outfit and the exclusive not only has the classic one but also the Alpha Chun-Li! Yes, it includes both versions of Chunners! And that for only about thirty bucks extra! I don’t know why you would buy the regular of this one…

The regular will have an edition size of 450 pieces priced at 345,- USD while the exclusive has 200 for 379,- USD. Both are available for pre-order on Monday January 27th at 3PM Pacific Time.

Update: I added more pictures and the links to where you can buy these. I’m still not convinced… I really don’t like Chun’s face and personally find that the pose is a bit stiff and weird looking. But as far as diorama’s go, it still is quite nice. And besides, Vega is just awesome.
