I’m Ikaryas, I’m the one who came up with this idea and decided on the name given to this little project. Did I Mention I’m Crazy comes forth out of the strange looks we get when people see our collection.

Tsume-Art put itself on our radar

Have you ever heard of Tsume-Art before? We sure didn’t. Not until we spotted some Street Fighter figures they’re going to release…

It’s strange that I never heard of them before now since it’s not only an European company but also one based in Luxembourg which is practically around the corner. On the other hand, their licenses consist mainly out of anime ones. So I guess it’s not that odd since, while I do love to watch anime, we generally don’t collect anything from it. I say generally since I bought one piece a little while ago that’s based on an anime…

But now they started with Street Fighter.

Well, Ultra Street Fighter IV to be precise. And they’re already releasing two characters that have quite an interesting history together if you ever saw the original Street Fighter 2 animated movie. I saw it when I was six or seven years old and I’ll always remember the shower scene. Yeah, my big brother got the uncensored version from somewhere. I remember it well… Well, just after that scene, Chun-Li gets attacked by a masked stranger which was non other than Vega (or Balrog in Japan). I instantly fell in love. He was so twisted.

They choose to present Chun-Li in her classical blue outfit, kicking up dust with her thunder-thighs. The pose is really dynamic and suits her well. One of the complaints that I’ve read about her was that they thought that her tights were too shiny, but frankly, I don’t think so. I think it all blends together really well. There is nothing to dislike on this one!

The same, however, can not be said about Vega. Don’t get me wrong, I love his pose; hanging about, ready to kick anyone’s ass and looking pretty while doing so. But there is a seam on his arm that’s just a thorn in my eye. It’s way to sharp and obvious and I do hope they’ll fix it before it ships… I’m also not that fond about his face but that doesn’t matter too much since, should I get this, I’ll choose to display it with his mask anyhow.

Both are going to be 1/8th scale which really is on the small side. I find 1/6th scale already fairly small, 1/8th is just tiny. And they’re not that cheap either considering the scale. They’re going to cost you 119.90 EUR (~165 USD) excluding shipping which has me thinking that these are going to be resin. Of course, I don’t know that for sure… I have also no idea just how limited these are but what I do know is that the first 200 sold on the official website are going to be signed by the artistic team.
