FACTS 2012

Just like last year, we went to the only big geek festival there is around here. Yes, that’s right; FACTS. And, just like last year, I only went on Sunday because I still have that Saturday job to go to.

But Ingis did go on Saturday as well to help a friend of ours with his stand. He also bought some nice, original, comic panels from the Mass Effect special edition comic. Haven’t taken a picture of those yet but I will check to do so soon.

On Sunday, we got to walk around without really having to hurry. We started with the artist corner because we knew that one of our favorite artists was going to be there, so we bought his artbook and got him to draw Felicia from Darkstalkers in it. Absolutely LOVE his style! So, who is this artist? He calls himself Xa (short for Xavier ) and he’s the character designer of the popular serie Wakfu as well of the game Dofus but that isn’t how we got to know him. We stumbled across him because he also got an entry in the Darkstalkers Tribute book from Udon. And because we love his art, and I got a plush and a bag of Wakfu I think, we decided to get his book and to let him sign it. You can view his DeviantArt page here. He’s a super friendly guy that unfortunately, can’t speak English very well which sucks because I can’t speak French…

The second artist, which we kind of stumbled upon, was Dean Yeagle. I’ve always loved his Mandy art so this was the perfect chance to get his artbooks and to let him sign them. We bought two books from him simply because we liked the second book that we saw, which he only had the display piece left of, better. We got him to dedicate them to us both (one book for each of us). Ingis didn’t knew him but liked his art that much that we also ordered a Mandy statue when we got home…

After the artist corner, we decided to just walk around and look at all the goodies. And when we went home, we could barely carry all the stuff we bought…
