First4Figures is one of the few (if not the only) companies that makes decent Nintendo statues. Their biggest lines consist of The Legend of Zelda. This statue of Zant is the first one in their The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess 1/4 Scale “Master Arts” line. Big words for ‘just another’ Premium Format/Mixed Media.
Like I said, this is the first one in this line. The second one is currently already announced; Wolf Link and Midna. Now, as you may know if you ever played the Twilight Princess game on the GameCube or on the Wii, Zant, the Usurper King, is one of the two major antagonists in Twilight Princess. He is the self-proclaimed King of Twilight, although Midna claims he’s the King of Shadows. He is a member of the Twili who usurps the throne of the Twilight Realm from Midna before the events of Twilight Princess. He regularly appears wearing a helmet that conceals his face, but removes it before his battle with Link. He is a powerful sorcerer and minion of Ganondorf.

The thong thingie on Zant his helmet can be removed so you can reveal his mouth. The details on his clothes and armor are amazing. I also like the face that they chose to make the hem from real cloth and that they made the green lines on the clothing and the white ones on the base luminous. I like glow in the dark. I had glow in the dark sheep on my ceiling. They are gone now…
Anyhow, back on the subject. The paint isn’t that well done but it almost looks on purpose, well maybe it was, because it suits the overall look of this statue real well. Normally, dirt and darker lines bug me. A lot. But on this one, it really appeals to me. And don’t forget the sheer size of this thing! It’s 21 inch (about 54 cm) tall! I just love 1/4 scale…
The only difference between the exclusive and the regular (besides the lower ES) is the unmasked head. I like it but I’ll probably display it with the mask but without the thong thingie. I like it that way. Of course, that’s only a personal preference and I must say that I also like the unmasked version. It just doesn’t look as menacing as the masked one.
Like with all F4F statues you are able to register your number on their website using the authentication card included. This way you can have the same number throughout the entire line (if ordered on the official website). This is a very big plus for me since I like having the same numbers. So, when I receive Wolfie and Midna, I got another 1/4 Master Arts number 121. Happy me. Too bad it wasn’t 4 numbers higher…
So far, I haven’t encountered any issues with this one. Clearly they are learning very well of past mistakes. That makes me one happy gal!
Conclusion
I like this statue a lot. Hence the reason I bought it… If you’re a big fan of Zelda, with a big and good filled wallet, you won’t regret in following this line! It truly has the potential to become one of F4F greatest lines ever!
