Kotobukiya + Movie + Bishoujo = Win??

Kotobikya started a while a go with a new hit in the merchandise world; Bishoujo statues. And they’re not stopping… not by a long shot!

There are already some post about this series on Dimic, but for the new readers I’ll give you some info.

Bishōjo (美少女, literally “beautiful young girl”, also spelled bishoujo) is a Japanese term used to refer to young and pretty girls, usually below university age.

So a bishoujo statue is ipso facto a female statue, mostly sexy designed with an eye for the female curves. Like I stated before, in a mostly manly and somewhat nerdish environment, this is a hit.

Now Koto already started some time ago with a new sub-line in their bishoujo series focusing on some great movies from the past and future. The first in this line was a Ghostbuster girl. Yeah, I know the ghostbusters were all men. It’s not like the statues are really characters from the licence, but they are inspired by it. This girl is wearing a ripped ghostbuster suit and has the right equipment on her to catch all those nasty, slimy ghosts. After this cutie it was a bit silent around this new line and I was wondering what would happen next.

Well in the last few days, Koto came up with some really good news for the fans of this line. They announced two new licences where they will make a bishoujo-inspired-statue from. The first licence is Star Wars where we already got some artwork from and it looks good. It looks so good that we will probably start with this line. This girl, Jaina Solo who is the daughter of Han and Leia, is dressed in a Starfighter suit and, like I said before, is looking real good.

The second licence is Men in Black 3. It’s a bit strange since it’s about men, but hey, they did will with the Ghostbuster girl so I kinda have faith in this one.

I really hope there are a lot more licences coming to expand this line. Since the only thing that is really required is a distinguished uniform, we’re probably good for a few more. Keep your fingers crossed !!
